Amazon Web Services has made its database migration data service available to all customers, after completing the migration of more than 1,000 databases from the first day of 2016.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced that its database AWS Migration Service, previously available in preview, is now available for all AWS customers.
The basic AWS Data Migration Service has seen more than 1,000 databases from the likes of Expedia and Pegasystems and complete the move to the AWS cloud of January 1, 2016.
According to AWS, the migration service is a fully managed service that allows customers to migrate their Oracle production databases, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL and MariaDB from the local mail data centers to the AWS cloud.
"Hundreds of customers moved mail more than a thousand local databases to Amazon Aurora, other engines of Amazon RDS, or running databases on Amazon EC2 when previewing the basic service AWS data migration, "Hal Berenson, VP of services relational database AWS, said in a statement.
In less than 11 weeks, AWS said that many of its customers also plans AWS Conversion Tool is used to change the database engine.
The giant cloud says Historically, migration to a cloud database saw the earning potential of the inherent inactivity to copy from a database, or the purchase of loss migration tools expensive.
"Customers have told us repeatedly that they wanted to help move their local mail databases to AWS, and also pass basic engine options more open data, but the answer to the database of the service AWS migration was harder than we expected, "said Berenson.
"In the survey, one third of the migration database uses the AWS database Migration Service, not only to move the databases to the AWS cloud, but also to change the engine databases in the process."

"These problems are probably related: Customers who do not use their capacity or have not become their cloud services is unlikely to renew the contracts measured (estimated at about 50 percent of all cloud contracts are grouped) for the total amount, "wrote Koenig.
"Unless Oracle can change these trends - the cloud stocks are likely to quickly slow down and revenues of the cloud may not accelerate as much as guided - trying to do to ramp up your" customers personal success manager "in an order of magnitude. "
Koenig also said that these issues on the wear of clouds and capacity utilization can not indicate that customers are testing other databases for workloads, and customers could move capacity the database or AWS microsoft and look at other options such as unstructured data takes more than the cake.
